Why The Everything asks for each permission

Last updated: 2026-07-18

The Everything requests only the permissions it needs to act inside your browser on your behalf. Here’s what each one is for.

PermissionWhy the Extension needs it
scripting / activeTabTo read the content of the page you're actively working on and perform the actions you ask for on it.
tabs / tabGroupsTo know which tab and window you're in so actions happen in the right place.
webNavigationTo follow page navigations so a multi-step task continues on the right page.
debuggerTo reliably observe and control page elements for automation tasks that ordinary content scripts can't perform. Screenshots and OCR captured this way are processed locally and are not uploaded to our servers.
nativeMessagingTo communicate with the local companion agent installed on your own device, which runs deeper inspection and OCR locally.
Host access to localhost / 127.0.0.1To talk to that local companion agent over a loopback connection on your own device.
Host access to login.microsoftonline.comTo sign you in securely through Microsoft's hosted login. We only receive an identity token — never your password.
Host access to specific connected business platformsThe Extension includes access to the specific business platform(s) it is built to assist with, so it can read and act on the pages you are working in there.
Optional access to other sites (<all_urls> / https://*/*)Requested only at runtime, and only when you grant it, so the assistant can help on the specific additional sites you choose. Nothing is accessed automatically.
identityTo sign you in securely. We never see your password.
storage / unlimitedStorageTo save your settings and working data locally.
sidePanelTo show the assistant in the browser side panel.
alarmsTo schedule background maintenance tasks.
offscreenTo run required background processing.
notifications / downloads (optional)Requested only if you use features that need them.

What we do not do

The debugger permission and optional access to other sites are used solely to let your own assistant act on pages you explicitly direct it to. We do not collect your browsing content for advertising, we do not sell it, and the Extension contains no advertising or third-party analytics code. Raw screenshots, OCR text, the values you type into fields, and full page source are not uploaded to our servers.

For full details on how information is handled, see our Extension Privacy Policy.
